7th Grade Math - Ms. Brosteau
Instructor: Ms. Brosteau
Math class is a dynamic place where students engage in various forms of problem solving. The period is often started with a warm up problem in which students are challenged by a thematic topic such as the order of operations, finding the surface area of a prism or simplifying a mathematical expression. Students are assessed on these topics regularly. Students work on an age appropriate curriculum from a book and are expected to read each section and master the vocabulary and the chapter work. Independent thinking is encouraged and guided assistance and checks for student's understanding happen throughout the lessons. Students are also expected to complete extended response writing assignments and various projects throughout the year.

The following topics will be covered:
Period one - equations and inequalities, fractions, graphing data, proportional reasoning, geometry, and an introduction to spread sheets.
Period two - pre-algebra, equations, number theory, complex problem solving, geometry, factals, and an introduction to spread sheets
